Census Scotland and Landlords
As you're no doubt be aware that Scotland’s Census 2011 takes place on Sunday 27 March.
If you have a tenant occupying your property on that day then it is their responsibility to complete the form.
However, if your property is vacant on the night of 27 March, it becomes the responsibility of the landlord to complete. If any of your properties are vacant on Sunday then please complete the relevant questions H6-H9.
The General Register Office for Scotland has informed SAL that though they don’t intend to fine people for late submissions, they will apply the fine of up to £1000 for non-compliance.
